A homeowner called Stratford Police to his 200 block of Burritt Ave. home around 4:30 a.m. to report the shooting.

He told officers that he saw two men attempting to steal his car from the driveway.

It's unclear who fired first, but police noted multiple bullet holes in the man's home, authorities said. The thieves ran away rather than finish the fight.

No injuries have been reported as of noon Tuesday.

Investigators ask anyone with information on the shootout or the alleged car thieves to contact Stratford Police Detective Mike Panton at 203-385-4143 or mpanton@townofstratford.com.
